My son is internacional student . He like directing or cinematography . He receive scholarship 41% in Ithaca COA and scholarship 22% in De Paul COA . He prefer Living Chicago . We like some advices
Hi! My son is deciding between Ithaca right now and UCF. We are waiting to hear back from Emerson & also Chapman where he is waitlisted. Ithaca is a beautiful town. I don’t know about Chicago except it may not be as safe. Just wanted to say hello & good luck. They are both good for film
I think DePaul is an okay school. It really depends on what he wants to do. Like a lot of film schools the focus is mostly on teaching you how to be below the line crew. But it’s a decent foundational program. I’m not familiar with Ithaca so I cannot speak to its program.
Chicago is a great city and safety is not really a concern beyond general city safety (ignoring panhandlers, being aware of surroundings, not going places you know you shouldn’t be). I lived there for 5 years with no issues. It’s really not true what is said in the news. Most of the problems are in areas that are not easily accessible like the south and west sides. There’s tons of really amazing areas and compared to New York or LA it’s cleaner and public transportation is solid.
